Middle
School Division
Hillel's 6-8 grade programs expose students to seven core subjects.
Language arts, social studies,
science, math, Hebrew and Judaics are studied daily. Three
days a week the Middle School students also engage in learning a third
language as they study Spanish. The
majority of Hillel graduates are able to place out of Spanish I
when entering High
School.
Our goal in Middle
School is to provide children with an environment that allows them to develop
both cognitively and socially during these important early teenage
years. Focus is placed on
developing the ability to think for one self, to infer, to apply
previously learned knowledge, and to be confident in ones abilities.
All of
Hillel's teachers work together to create a rich curriculum
that works towards these goals. Computer education, art and physical
education are an important part of the Middle School program, and
students are encouraged to be active members of our sports teams.
As in the Intermediate program, lessons are generally taught at above
grade level and Hillel graduates are admitted to
the finest High School programs in the Tampa bay area.
A full Middle
School curriculum is available for review when you visit our school.
